Last Saturday night, Aug. 25, 2007, the 11:00 PM local news on KNBC opened w/ a live, breaking story. They said that in the last hr. a fork-lift had pierced a container of RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL AT LAX. I have been looking for a folllow-up–in all media– since I heard the story, nearly a week ago. Nothing. Were they reporting a false alarm at the top of the news???? Or is there a cover-up ???

LAX Forklift Accident Spills Radioactive Material
(CBS) LOS ANGELES An accident — not an act of terrorism — created a radioactive hazardous materials situation at Los Angeles International Airport tonight, according to an airport spokeswoman.

A forklift punctured one of three cargo boxes containing low-grade radioactive material in the Lufthansa cargo building at Imperial Highway and Aviation Boulevard at about 8:10 p.m., said Nancy Castles of the Los Angeles World Airports, which operates LAX.

City firefighters contained the area of tarmac and a hazardous materials crew cleaned up the spill, Castles said.

About 31 workers were evaluated for exposure to radioactive material and released, Castles said.

The incident was being investigated as an accident and not an act of terrorism, she said.

Went to Torafuku, a great Japanese restaurant on Pico near Westwood… then upstairs to the new Landmark Theaters to see Iraq documentary, No End In Sight. It was sold out. Instead we saw 2 Days In Paris w/ French star Julie Delpy, who has worked in American productions. Delpy was not just the star but producer, director, writer, editor, composer & she sang the theme. I liked it. This is a real accomplishment by Julie Delpy. She’s like a good-looking, female Woody Allen or Larry David. Adam Goldberg as the beleaguered American boyfriend was also very good.

I’m sorry but Nancy Jo Sales didn’t deliver much juice, just puff, in the article, I’m With Her! (Vanity Fair, September 2007). It’s about the male consorts of the Paris/ Nicole/Lilo set. Vanity Fair usually tells all but here I don’t have a clue as to what these “guys” deliver!!! They all look & seemingly act anything but “happening”…..the attraction, pls??
Are any of them good lovers??? I doubt it !!! My guess, if anyone, would be K-Fed. HOW SCARY IS THAT!!!! These guys are all probably duds & one reason the girls are lost in drugs. My favorite is Cisco Adler, he’s so very, very LA. We know his dad is Lou Adler…his mother,pls???

Was at the W.Hollywood IHOP & my server looked EXACTLY like Penelope Cruz….at the Ivy at the Shore tonite was the blond star of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Is that still on??? I never saw it & I don’t plan to.

The apparent double suicide of “It” couple, artist Jeremy Blake & writer/ filmmaker/ blogger, Theresa Duncan, is very sad & the odd, mysterious story has yet to fully unfold. It has all the trappings: beautiful, highly-achieved & highly-ambitious people; dashed Hollywood dreams; alleged Scientology tie-ins.
Until early this year, when the pair moved back to NY, they lived in Venice.I didn’t know them-never heard of them–but apparently a longtime friend of mine, Glenn O’Brien, was their close friend. Blake & Duncan spent their last weekend at Glenn’s country house & he was asked by Jeremy Blake (who followed his mate into death–days later) to make the final postmortem entry on Theresa Duncan’s blog.
I wonder what their suicide notes said? I wonder about so many things here…
